Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

AWKWARD:
  1. Closing your shirt in the cash register.. and getting it stuck. "Hi, I'll be right with you!" As soon as I retrieve myself from the register.
  2. There is ALWAYS an awkward moment when you're not sure if a woman is pregnant or not but you ask anyways how far along she is. But then again why would her shirt say "We're Hungry". Especially when she is by herself.
  3. Sweeping up a fingernail in a cupcake shop. Like a big one. TWO DAYS IN A ROW.
  4. Going to blow a bubble with your gum and accidentally end up spitting it out at your father's face.
  5. Driving by a guy who is cleaning and disinfecting his garbage can. Really people? It's garbage. That's like trying to clean mud.
AWESOME:
  1. These family photos above. I was literally laughing out loud.
  2. Looking over at a stopped light and seeing a woman in a full set of curlers in her hair. I didn't know people still used curlers, let alone forget to take them out.
  3. Driving and having a little asian boy standing on the side of the road by himself throwing berries at every car that drives by. I didn't know how to categorize that one.
  4. I'll tell you what's not awesome. Losing your iPod touch with your whole life on it.
  5. Crying in the Soul Surfer movie. How pathetic can you get until you hit rock bottom?

I've Been In One Of THESE Moods Lately.

So I never read. Like ever. School projects and book reports and all that...nothin. I don't know how I managed to get by really. I used to love it in middle school, but once that whole high school stuff hit, I just gave up. But I am so envious of those people who do love to read that I decided to try picking it up again. So I went to our local non-profit coffee shop, ordered an italian soda, put on some fake glasses, and propped open my book. I felt so intellectual. My waiter even complimented me on my actions. Go books.

Oh Hot Dog; This Is My Jam.

So I had a date night with Madison. And yes I am fully aware that I have multiple date nights with no guys. Let's rub it in some more eh? Anyways. We went to our towns 'Fun Days'. There is food and rides and parades and all that carnival junk. Not really sure why we have them, but it's a good opportunity for all those eighth grade boys to hit on you. Hello, I'm 18 and this isn't even legal. Wanna maybe hit on girls your own age? THANKS. It was fun, I guess that is why they call it the 'Fun Days'. Real creatvie guys. Why not call it the 'Everyone Stuff Your Faces With Pure Sugar and Get Creeped On By Fourteen Year Old Boys Days'. Maybe next year.

Family Game Night (Not My Family)

For the record, I'm M.

After a wonderful day at Church I had family dinner with my "family". Or should I say my second family that belongs to one of my best friends. After stuffing our faces we did what any family would do on a Sunday night and played games. We played multiple cards games and ended with this game (that I don't know the name of) and you throw two golf balls tied together arouund poles. Wow. The way I described that sounds like a hick game, but it's not. I promise. Anyways, it was a fun night, and an even funner night if you won everything. Just sayin.

ihop for joy!

Happy friday friends! Now let's get down to business. A couple of days ago, or should I say evenings.... friends gathered at our local international house of pancakes. Yes, I do waste all of my money on food. Thank you for noticing. And we ate (nutella crepes) and laughed, but the most interesting part of the evening was our waiter. This 23 year old guy who thought he was way too cool for some high school graduate kids, and just thought his jokes and comebacks were just hilarious. THEY WEREN'T. But in the end, nothing beats going to ihop in the middle of the night and leaving a tip on a napkin. Enjoy your days!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

( I'm sorry for no post yesterday; I didn't go home. )
AWKWARD:
  1. Leaving Target ( for the fourth day in a row; I'm pathetic ) and getting into my car and nailing my head on the top of the car thereby leaving a goose egg and a bruise. Good thing I park out in the back of the lot so NO ONE can see my shame.
  2. Watching someone walk up to a door thinking it was an automatic door that opened by itself.
  3. Drinking chocolate milk earlier and going to get ready for the day and notice your nose has gotten a little darker. Yes, you think, I am getting tan! Where in fact it ws dried chocolate milk on your nose.
  4. Having your boss call and text you repeatedly to come in early to work and not waking up until fifteen mintues before you have to be there. Good morning,  or should I say afternoon.
  5. Having your bike tire not only go flat, but have it literally fall out of your tire 50 feet from your house. It wont move.
  6. Sitting behind someone in church and watching their little boy pull out a CHUNK of the mothers hair. Multiple strands here people. And watching her just throw it on the floor right by you. Thank you?
AWESOME:
  1. Feeling sore; it makes you feel so accomplished
  2. Boating finally! I leaped off that boat before it was even out of the wake zone.
  3. Driving around no where and looking at houses, that feeling of being lost and not worrying about it. I'm talking about out in the mountains here people.
  4. Jamba juice happy hour!!!? Monday-Friday 2:00-4:00 All smoothies half off!!
  5. Going on romantic bike rides in the sunshine with your best friend. Eating lunch, health smoothies, and soakin up the rays!

Yes I am Not a Lesbian.

And yes, I do wear that shirt everyday. In fact, I'm wearing it now. (But that's besides the point) WELCOME. So, here's a little rendition of what I would like to call "Date Night". This little philly named Kyra, recently turned 18, and I had a pathetic night. But you know what? It's okay to have these nights. These nights are necessary. And on this night we proclaimed that we need to stuff our faces with whatever we wanted and be completely lazy. And we did. And it felt awesome. We got ice cream, cookie dough, Mcdonalds fries, and rented the WORST possible movie probably ever to be made. AND WE LOVED IT. "Date Night 2" will be coming to a computer near you.

Do You Think Luke Skywalker Celebrates Fathers Day?

Okay, maybe not. But I do! And so my little friends I am going to show and tell you about my fancy pants fathers day gift! First buy a container that has some glass bottles (or plastic, whatever your little heart desires) and drink the contents or dump them out. Rinse out the bottles and let them dry. After find cute paper to wrap around the outside of the containers and cover the carton that the bottles were in originally. Fill up the bottles with things that your papa loves. I personally used sun flower seeds, peanuts, golf tees, mentos, gum, and pretzels. These are all my father's favorite things and it was such a good way to give a meaningful present. I love my dad and I am so grateful to have him be apart of my life. Hope your daddies had a good day too! P.S. Notice the Kid Rock cut out on the thrid picture? Yeah... found that little beauty in my bed the other day. THANKS FAMILY.

This Is My Town.

So there I was driving home yesterday and noticed how perfect of a day it was. And I drove past this little beauty of a plot of land and saw the repetition of the haystacks and the green and blue bright colors and I thought to myself, "hey, let's take a picture of that." So what did I do? I pulled over on the side of the road while cars passed me and ran across the street and snapped it. The construction people across the road watching me thought I was nuts. But I enjoyed it. I'm going to go out and enjoy this now. Happy weekend.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday.

AWKWARD:
  1. Going to pull the covers over your head and having your hand slip so you punch yourself in the face.
  2. Texting your sister and spelling her name wrong.. oh hey, I've only been your sister for 18 years, thanks for remembering me.
  3. I don't know if this is awkward or ironic but spelling school wrong (see posts below)... isn't school the place to go to learn how to spell?
  4. Being called multiple times to go donate blood AGAIN after nearly dying from giving three months ago. The people advised me not to give for a long time but how do you explain that?!
  5. Not so much cutting yourself with a butter knife and getting five stitches, but the fact of telling people that you have stitches on your finger from a butter knife, yes a butter knife people.
AWESOME:
  1. The fact that I'm still getting graduation money, but people know me so well to the fact that they give me Target gift cards.
  2. Sleep, it feels so good to catch up, and actually sleeping for eleven hours last night.
  3. The whole guitar thing.. really coming along well!
  4. FREE JAMBA JUICE.
  5. Really long heatr to heart talks when you can just let loose and be one hundred percent blatantly honest. It's more of a cleansing thing, not to mention the fact that you can eat pizza and watermelon after. Thank you Liz.

I Am the SerVICE President.

Good afternoon strangers. A couple of weeks ago for my church we did a service project for little kids in Africa. We got the opportunity to make these cloth dolls and have them be shipped over later next month. It will be cool because we will get to see a  video of our dolls being handed out to the kids and seeing their reaction will be priceless. They will also get new toys and games and clothes as well. I love doing service and it just takes a little to give a lot. Who knows, maybe I'll be blogging about a trip to Africa myself one day!

Gee-Tar.

Friends, can I just say that I have waited my whole life for this day? Because I have. This morning I accomplished one of the biggest items on my list. Guitar lessons. I have been wanting to do this for years, years I tell you. And you know what? I DID IT. I have five more lessons, but my teacher said that I picked it up waaayy better than the student prior to me. So how about them apples? I'll keep you posted on how it turns out, but I can already play 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. BOOM. Oh and I forgot to mention the student that played before me was nine.... go figure.

I Am a State Champion All By Myself.

One of the last days in high school our school baseball team played their little hearts out all the way to the state championship game. It turns out that our schoool got the state title, but I don't know what was more exciting...  the fact that we won, or the fact that the game was over. I mean don't get me wrong that's great and all, but they need to discover a way to make the game part more exciting, BESIDES the delicious expensive food. GO MUSTANGS!

If You Give a Goose A Piece Of Bread...

He'll bring his friends over resulting in 20+ geese surrounding you. Which is exactly what happened to my dear friend Madison and I. It all started out with a plan to go golfing, but due to the rain it ended up being a picnic eating fried chicken and rolls. Go figure. So as were eating our feast on the side of the road two geese decide to show up from the local pond. Us, being angels sent from heaven, fed the two hungry birds not knowing that later they would turn on us. Well, to make this a short story, the birds doubled, then trippled because they decided that we could care provide for three geese families!! But, there was a problem. We ran out of bread. Sitting in the middle of the grass. Surrounded literally by feet in angry geese. They started hissing and charging us. So we booked it to the car. ONLY TO FIND that I left my phone in the middle of them all. After, we got hot chocolate. Yum.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday

AWKWARD:
  1. Spilling over the flower vase at the store and having it spill water in the entire lobby
  2. Paying for a half a donut at the register... oh sorry, do I get it half off now?
  3. Going to a bon fire that had less people there than I could count on one hand
  4. Having one of those realistic dreams about someone you don't know personally.
  5. Going to get cookie dough off of someones face. "Oh, thats a scab."
  6. Going to Target two days in a row and having the same cashier checking you out while you wear the shirt that you bought the day before
AWESOME:
  1.  The summer weather, um can you say boating?
  2. Waking up at a time that people should not wake up at.
  3. Graduation money...holla!
  4. Lazy days and The Office
  5. Having more awkward things to say than awesome.

The Frizz Whiz.

Greetings. Sister and sister's boyfriend were in the 208 for the graduation celebration. Papa doesn't like playing frisbee with just me because I can't catch... or throw. So he decided that we go out as a familly and toss the disc around. Well... let's just say that I watched them throw the friz around because they all threw it to eachother, and not me. I love my family.

Don't Be Tan-dumb.

To celebrate one of the first sunny days of the year (and probably the only one) we decided to take a calming tandem bike ride, or maybe not so calming. Who knew that even with two people on a bike it was still hard work?! Or maybe it was harder because we stopped for a snowcone on the way...curious. The highlight of the trip was managing to not get run over when swerving uphill on the busiest road in the city. Boo-yah.

The Kid Did It.

That's right little lovelies, I can now call myself a highschool graduate. It's funny because it seems like such a bitter-sweer surreal moment. Don't get me wrong; I loved my high school experience, but I cannot wait to move on and take the next big step in my life. I am grateful for the friends and family that gave me such love and support. Bring it on world.

Party Like a Rockstar?

Okay, so maybe not so much like a rockstar... but with graduation coming up; we still partied. and partied. and partied. and with all these parties came much eating. and eating. My family traveled from all over the place to celebrate my graduation. We all hung out and barbequed and played games, I love my family and it was so much fun to see them and have them come celebrate! It seemed like EVERYONE had grad parties all over the city and let's just say that I was and still am being fed free lunch and dinner. Gotta love it!
