Awesome Thursday!

Since life is being kind and not granting TOO many awkward encounters for me lately, today we're going to focus on the awesome things because apparently there are a lot.
1. When you walk into the book store and a couple people comment on your outfit and you hear them subtley say, "man, I wish I could dress better."
2. When the song My Humps comes on when you are at a romantic dinner date.
3. Noticing that the Elder's Wand symbol is drawn on the window of the bus.
4. The bus driver that you get along with well that everytime you get off the bus says, "see ya kid."
5. How my institute teacher's addresses the class: Dear ones, lovelies, princesses etc. etc.
6. 104% on psychology test
7. Having small feet.
8. Having small feet that make it possible to purchase the last pair of little kid sandals for $3.
9. Weather is too killer nice to be prepping me for my little trip to Arizona.
10. Jumping for joy for SPRING BREAK!!

Ice Ice Baby

So recently we attended our first USU hockey game which just-so-happened to be against BYU. Now I for one am not the kind of person to be all giddy to go watch hockey, even though I do love seeing guys smashed up against the glass all bloody just as much as the next person does. To be honest, my perspective totally changed, well, at least for this game. Now I don't comprehend why the periods are so long, or why the zambone driver feels the need to clean the rink for 24985734289 minutes, but I do understand what it means to win 20-0 and walk away totally inferior, yeah that I comprehend just fine.

While You Were Out

The past couple weeks have been busy ones for me for some reason, so I apologize in advance to those who are at my door with torches and pitch forks. BUT on the plus side, I now only have one test left to go, it's almost spring break, and the sun is out. yes dear ones, the sun. After a huge blizzard snow storm our little friend decided to play peek-a-boo and I for one, am not complaining. A little update from the weekend: We went night tubing with a random ward in our church, stayed at their new cabins, trekked through a blizzard, and ate my weight in food. Also, we had dinner dates, bowling high scores, and a new fear of germs. Happy pre-spring break week!

The Dead Sledder.

This is what preparing for death looks like; in fashionable third grade long johns. (or should I say short johns?)
With the recently fallen snow laying its cold winter blanket over the town, this provided prime opportunity to display our sledding magic, or lack there of. What's great about having a campus uphill is not the fact that you get to kill yourself walking up it, but that there is much recreation to partake of. So we loaded up our gear and headed toward Old Main and climbed the trek to the the top, only to find that I forgot how much of an AWFUL sledder (sleddee?) I am. But seriously. I would put my feet down to break because I hate going fast and would have all the snow just come up and spray my face so I couldn't see and thereby making me break more which lead to more face spraying...and well, you get the point. It was still fun, but I think my favorite part was coming home and eating homemade ice cream sandwiches and hot chocolate. And for that, we thank you.

Mission For Missionaries.

On Saturday I got the opportunity to go do some service with the relief society of my church. We woke up early in the morning and ate a very filling breakfast, which I wish I would have ate more, had some speakers talk to us about service and then went at it! We ended up making cards for the missionaries around the world to help them provide special thanks to people. We had a goal of 1000 and ended up making 820, which isn't bad! It was so easy and surprisingly fun! It always feels so good serving others, especially when it is something so simple, yet so meaningful.

I Was Practicing the Art of Karee-Okay.

So last night in honor of my buddy Andrew's birthday, our entire building went to the local Pizza Pie Cafe for some good ole fashioned fun. We got in for unlimited pizza and their famous rounds of karaoke (yes I just had to google that.) It was KILLER fun. Everyone went up and made complete fools of themselves, but it was so entertaining. Let me tell you, this thing gets CRAZY. If you want sing you have to show up at least a half hour early. I of course picked Bennie and the Jets and of course they close right when it is our turn! Disappointment. But we will probably be going again, so I'll let you know how the crowd surfing goes... and a happy birthday Andrew!
